Vintage Deco 1946 Zenith Radio Model 5-s-042-bt Now A Bluetooth Speaker

This is a 1946 Zenith radio model 5-S-042-BT made in Chicago. Back in the day this radio was AM & 2 bands of short wave able to listen to the world news. This unit had a rough life being found in the basement with water stains, peeling veneer and no future.  Sorry to say I did not take a before pic. This one was a dirty mess needing some TLC. The entire walnut veneer & mahogany case was sanded & tinted to match the original factory pattern. Repaired the veneer and added new figured maple strips stained to match the face plate above & below the dial/speaker area. Love the look of the all woods on the front panel now. Finished with several coats of semi gloss lacquer. Added a new period correct piece of speaker cloth. The original knobs were dirty but useable. Cleaned & reused the original dial but had to replace the cover with new plexiglass. Bid improvement. The lines & overall shape make this a classic deco radio. I like the contrast of the woods & dial. Please review the pics. On the inside, I installed a new Bluetooth digital stereo hi-fi audio amplifier with 100 watts per channel in addition to a big booming 6.5" Pioneer multi range speaker.  Great sound here. Yes this classic is now a real boom box. Installed the on/off/volume switch with the knob on the right. The others are fixed.  DO NOT TURN. Reused the original back plate. Usually these are usually broken or damaged. All of the electronics are hard wired and secured to the inner supports insure a long life.  This is one of a kind Bluetooth stereo that is deco cool. A real conversation piece that makes a grand statement. There is a new electrical plug also. The 1946 Zenith deco radio converted to Bluetooth measures 18" x 9.5" x 8" and is heavy.
